Hallo everybody,

When I update the VPM-repository via internet I get get lot of errors(code 300), so I installed the VPM-acquisition on the internet server. All files were downloaded to a local repository now, without any errors (+/- 1 Gb). But I cannot acquire a update from that repository(see error below).

Any Ideas ?

thanks very much

Status: Complete Start time: 10/7/05 - 11:47 AM CEST
Task name: Acquire Updates End time: 10/7/05 - 11:47 AM CEST
Tool: Acquire Updates Duration: 7 sec
Owner: domainname\usr Target: vpm-server.domainname
Run by: domainname\usr
Command: N/A

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tool ran on: CMS (Central Management Server)
Exit code: 0
Stdout:

The task failed to execute.
http error 300 during an acquisition is not unusual. This means that there are multiple sources for the patch. Usually this occurs for older patches and we continually work on updating the url references as we find these errors.

Do you have patches in your repository from the vpm acquisition? The HP SIM acquisition completion event should have shown totals for patches downloaded in addition to the number of errors.

We have not seen the import error before. For the import, did you change the vpm settings to import from your downloaded repository? Was your download repository accessible by the vpm server at the time you tried to run the import?

Has something changed on the HP SIM server between the time you ran the acquisition from VPM and the time you tried to import? You are not getting the import task started which sounds like maybe a firewall is blocking our operations. In particular, are you running a security program or firewall that is blocking the 3466 port?

To prove that the port is accessible check in the services list to see if the process httpd service running. Do a netstat -a at port 3466, is it listening?
