I've seen VCA's require a reboot.
It's also recommended the entire PSP be installed as this is a tested bundle and you don't end up with dependency issues.
That will require a reboot.

Morning everyone.

I was wondering if anyone could give me a breakdown on whether or not the installation of the following when pushed from the SIM console, to a Win2k3 or 2k box require a reboot on the receiving machine.

SIM Agent
VCA Agent

Please advise for both an earlier version installed, and no version installed.

Thanks so much,

--Linus

Installed both of the above agents a couple of days ago and didnt have to reboot my server. My understanding is that if u downgrade then a reboot is required, but an upgrade or if u install the same version over again it should not.

Id much prefer to do it that way, unfortunately, I have a VERY large number of App owners who are convinced that any change to drivers whatsoever is going to cause their apps to die and never ever come back.

I need to get the agent onto around 100 machines, and even getting these guys to give me a reboot window is quite a headache. Thanks for the heads up on the VCA.

I'll probably restrict the push to SIM Agent only.
Any other tips from the community?

Thanks again for your help.
