Hi guys,

I'm wondering the following.
I need to have a certain file monitored on several servers.
Is it possible to have Insight manager have this file monitored (or maybe a certain agent) like it does on services?
I want the database files monitored on our exchange servers in our region. When this file grows too big or too fast, it should sent out a warning to the system admins.

Could you please help me on this?

Cheers,

Silvester

In short, no.
You could only set the disk space thresholds and manage it that way.
Essentially SIM looks after the hardware. The HP Agents give some visibility of the Services.
But it is not designed for file level monitoring.

To say it a different way, if you can find something that will do the monitoring and alerting, HP SIM can receive the alert. You might Google 'file size monitor SNMP' to see what you get.
