Hello.

I have a call opened with HP (#108016-140798#) but the replies they gave me (upgrade to agents 7.51, the NIC must be reachable from the SIM server to be inventoried) don't work : agents are 7.51 and the two NICs are reachable from the CMS.

Back to the forum, do one of you have a new suggestion ?

Thank you.
Hello.
We have some servers with a second NIC for the backup LAN. This NIC is in a different lan than the 'normal' one of course.
When I run the inventory on these servers, the IP address of the first NIC is listed but not the one of second NIC.
What could be the problem ?
Thank you.

Hello.

I upgraded a W2000 and a w2003 server with 7.51 agents and ran an inventory. The problem is still here : the second NIC, with an IP address that is not reachable from the sIM server, is not in the inventory. The MAC address is there.
Is the SIM5+SP5 correcting that ?
I have a call opened with HP (#108016-140798#) but they did not give me any solution better than to install the latest agents.
Only the SIM server itself have both addresses in it's inventory.

Regards.
This is by design. If you look at the SQL query used to generate the report you will see the data is pulled from the R_Inventory database view and only data for ipindex=0 is available in that view.

Thanks a lot for your answer Joel.
I checked the SQL query and I see that.

I will see if I can change something or create a new view.

Thanks again.
See the answer of Joel above.

I made a query on the IP addresses using MsQuery and found that 3 servers only have reported a second IP address. That means the CMS can store multiple addresses but the default report select only one, the first.

Now I must find why some servers report their second address and not the other ones.

Thanks again Joel.
