Hi!

thanks for your response.

I restarted the Web service and no joy. I even restarted the VC server and the HP SIM server.
No go!
I think that I will give up on this one!

I received the messge "Live Move is not enabled. Stop the VM to enable other move options."
I have verified my Virtual Center settings and am able to access the web page outside of SIM. the credentials work fine as well.

Any ideas? The service URK is the standard one https://servername:8443

Are you able to do livemove in the VC? If the livemove works in VC it should work in VMM.

If its working with VC not in VMM , I would suggesting filing a call with HP.

I am able to live move in Virtual Center just fine.
I believe my issues has someting to do with the Web Service on the VC and SIM. The settings in HP SIM seem to be accepted just fine and I am able to access the URL for the VC fine, the two (SIM and VC) just do not seem to be getting along.

As per your inputs the credentials are accepted fine in SIM then you should not have issues, try restarting the WEB service for VC.

Hi,
Going back to what you said "checked my VC setttings", did you setup the VC credentials in SIM via the menu items Options ->virtualization management->Security

Incidently I had same issue on my working setup and reinstalling VC and setting up the credentials again in VMM did the trick.

Yes I put in the user name, password, and URL and SIM verified it AOK. I have full functionality except for live moves.
Very frustrating. I guess that I will not purchase the VMM licenses if I cannot get this working.
I'm using the 60 day licenses right now.

I have fully functional and working setup. You seem to be having some issue in your environment. Did you try calling HP support? They should be able to help you out with your environment related issues if any. What is the content of your hpglobal.conf file in the <VMS installationfolder="">/bin directory. Are they correct?

Do you have some special characters in user username/domain etc?</VMS>

Found the folloing in release notes

3. For user name and passwords, the following guidelines apply:
â Database user names and passwords containing spaces are not supported.
â Oracle user names containing slash marks (/, \) are not supported.
â Microsoft SQL passwords containing quotes (") or the pipe character (|) are not supported.
â VirtualCenter user names and passwords must contain only alphanumeric characters.

do you have any of these situations.

Neeti

Hi Neeti,

To be hosest, this was not on the high priority list. We are having some issues other issues that we are working on first before I come back to this one.
I'm to the point now that I'm going to reinstall the entire thing and start over. Seeing that SP5 is out now, a fresh install sounds like a great idea.
