Yes, and I've asked on the forum before. This is the first time I've seen someone else have the issue.

It's happened a number of times here, but I've not been able to identify the trigger. It is very annoying!

Hi,

As of Friday, my global SNMP settings keep get set back to the default of public/private. The only thing that changed on the server was it was patched with MS security patches on Monday. But why would it take until Friday for the problem to show up. Plus, why would MS patches have any affect on this unique setting within SIM?

I set the strings to our custom values and then a few hours later it changes back to the defaults.

Anyone else ever see this?
Thanks
Nelson

Thanks Rob.

By the way, where-abouts in New Zealand do you live? I used to live there for 3 years from 1976 to 1979 (granted, I was only 7 years old when I left, so I don't remember much).

Anyway - my family and I lived in Newlands, which is (what we call in the States) a suburb of Wellington.

Nelson

Nelson,

I work in Wellington and live in Lower Hutt. Which is a separate City, although it probably wouldn't qualify as a City in US terms!

If I ever find a trigger to the lost settings I'll let you know. But it has certainly been through a few HPSIM updates.

I'm not too sure how many people ditch the default public and private community names, so I'm not too sure how rare our case is.

Haha! I asked my brother, who is older than, me if he remembered us ever going to the Lower Hutt. He thinks we went fishing there once and our car over heated and started on fire on the way back! I don't remember that at all!

Anyway. Seems like the problem with SNMP just went away on its own. Very strange.

Nelson

Problem went away by itself. No solution - but no problem anymore either.
