HPSIM should be able to work with all Support Packs.
The difference is that the older PSP's along with their agents provide less information and there are some PSP's that are not as robust as others.
In general you should keep the PSP's up to date in the same manner as all other software as you'll get better support.

The only differences in PSP's are typically OS related, not so much hardware variant. e.g. we're still running a 6.40 variant for an NT 4 server and HPSIM 5.0 SP5 sees that just fine.

In addition there are occasional MIB updates to HPSIM to pick up any new features in a PSP that are missing.

I'm using SIM for a while now but are still confused what support pack to use for the different proliant servers. I assumed that the newest support pack was the best choice but then I have a lot of critical errors displayed in SIM. When I go to the home page nothing shows what's the error.

Or is there a list with advised supp. pack per system type?

Thanks
Thanks for all your answers, ther helped me halfway.

I now finally found it, for some reason the management homepage is disapeared from a few servers. I did not notice that as you can connect as usual but only see the VCA status. I thought this was by design and I should get the status info of other components elswere but after deplying a compleet new support pack from the SIM I see a home page agin.

Thanks!
