Major and Minor Status not shown in Events and no email notification

Hi All,

I´m setting up email notification for events. When a server gets a major or minor status i can only see the symbol in the health status. But there comes no information in the Events. If the server gets critical like no ping then it´s shown in the Events and i get a mail. But not when i have major or minor. What i have to do ?

When something fails on a server, the agents should pick it up and send an SNMP Trap to the HPSIM Server.
So, in the SNMP settings under trap, you need the destination of your HPSIM server and the community name to use.
I always ensure the HPSIM Server SNMP setting is set to Allow All Hosts as well.

To test, from the remote server, go to Console Panel and run up the HP Management Agents GUI.
There's a Trap send button.
That will generate the SNMP trap which should turn up in HPSIM as a Major Generic event.

from there you can further troubleshoot.

I should add, when a server is no longer pingable, it is HPSIM itself that logs the event, that's why you get the event generated.
