Hello everybody,

have to install SIM on HP-UX 11i v2.
In the installation guide for SIM on HP-UX I found, that PostgreSQL and Oracle 9iR2 are the supported databases. Does it mean, SIM requires the previous installation of one of these two databases?
What am I missing, if I setup SIM without
having Oracle or PostgreSQL installed?

Arnulf
HPSIM uses a database to store most of its information, it's not just a static monitoring tool, it collects lots of inventory type data.

I'm not an HPUX person, but in the MS world, HPSIM will install MSDE if you don't have a database, it may do the same with HPUX using PostGreSQL. The installation docs should tell you.
