Port Requirements

Some of servers sit on other subnets then our CIM box. What ports do we need to open up between sub nets for CIM to work correctly.

Unless you've got some kind of filtering between the subnets you should just need to add the subnets to the Auto-Discovery range and rerun discovery.

You need to let through:
Ping, SNMP, and ports 2301 and 2381

We have firewalls between all our subnets. Hardware status messages are appearing ok but version control agents are not found. What specific port do they use?

Hi,

The Version Control Agent uses TCP port 2301

There is an "Understanding HP Systems Insight Manager security" .pdf file located at:

http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/infolibrary.html

which lists all the ports used by HPSim.
