Hi Rancher

Just an update on the c Series blades, there are BIOS patches available which fix "cooling issues" on the 2Gb and 4Gb DIMMs, I assume its to do with fan speed. It seems this error is as a result of the memory overheating.

It of course doesn't solve my management issue.

Regards

Andrew Y

Hi All

We have a BL460c blade running Redhat ES4.0 U5. In June we had a DIMM that was giving correctable errors which we replaced. However every time we reboot this blade we get the follwing email notification:

HP Insight Management Agents Trap Alarm

Trap-ID=6056

ECC Memory Correctable Errors detected.

which we believe is a repeat.

Does anyone have any idea how to clear this?

Regards

Andrew Y

Assuming the new memory is good:) We were getting a similar error on an ML370 G4 and it turned out to be the array controller.

Hi.

We have checked the HPASM logs on that server, plus the Blade management itself and the only memory related error in those logs relates from the first incident in June. Since then no additional errors have been logged on that server.

Andrew Y

Hi All

It turns out that everytime the Insight Manager Agents restart they read the IML log on the blades and report any errors they find, whether they be current or old errors.

The workaround is to clear the IML log.

Regards

Andrew Y
