    <description>We have SIM 5.1 with SP1-Windows.&lt;BR /&gt;We had a problem with our SQL database, the log file was full. Our database was in suspect state. But we made free space, recovered the database and we could do a shrink.&lt;BR /&gt;But now, our SIM does not send e-mails with importat events althouth we have a task  to do that.&lt;BR /&gt;But we do not know where we can find information about this problem, any log file?&lt;BR /&gt;any configuration file? any idea?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks in advance.</description>

      <description>I would try and create a new Event Handling task, say for all Major &amp;amp; Critical alerts to use e-mail and then use the HP Management Agents GUI to send traps.&lt;BR /&gt;You should see a generic Major Event - tests that the Event mechanism is working.&lt;BR /&gt;I'd recheck the SMTP settings, you can check if  the hpsim server can reach the Exchange server by just using a cmd prompt and telnet using port 25. It should answer.&lt;BR /&gt;There are logs in the hpsim install directory.</description>

      <description>We had done the test with a new task, it did not work.&lt;BR /&gt;We have other problems with the tasks, we can not delete them, when we try, a promt appears whith this message "unable to delete task". &lt;BR /&gt;When we try to see Task Results, we receive a "http Status 500" we have attached the error.&lt;BR /&gt;We have tested we can reach our mail server from the hpSIM server&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;In the logs directory, we have seen these errors :&lt;BR /&gt;",552 ERROR [BeanSerializer] Exception:&lt;BR /&gt;java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: The char '0x11' in 'Ã¦duÃ +Ã¶iÂ¥Ã¥ "Ã Z' is not a valid XML character."...&lt;BR /&gt;"818 ERROR [Engine] StandardWrapperValve[JBossAxisServlet]: Servlet.service() for servlet JBossAxisServlet threw exception"&lt;BR /&gt;"865 ERROR [CoyoteAdapter] ..."&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;But we have not any idea...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The log file is attached too.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks in advance</description>

      <description>I'm not an expert at that level of HPSIM, but at a guess there's a corruption in the database.&lt;BR /&gt;If you have any previous backups you might want to try restoring that and trying again.</description>

      <description>On your HP SIM server, go to the %ProgramFiles%\HP\System~1\bin directory.  Then run:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;mxinitconfig -c&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and HP SIM will do a check of the database.  If it reports that there are errors in the database, go and stop the HP SIM service and run&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;mxinitconfig -f&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;...and then restart the service.  Hopefully any errors in the database will be fixed and you'll be able to get going again.</description>

      <description>The -c option is invalid for mxinitconfig command, instead of that we stop the HP SIM service and run mxinitconf -r to delete all the configuration and then mxinitconf -a to get a clean configuration. The command started the HP SIM service automatically and all the things began to go ok.</description>
