Agent registration failed - VM Host

Hi,

I 've the following error when i try to register the VM Host :
Removed older version HP Virtual Machine Management Agent successfully.
Installing VMM Agent
Preparing... ##################################################
hpvmmagent ##################################################
Starting hpvmmcnt: [ OK ]
checking the port usage.
No port range change is required.
The agent installation has not completed since one of the portÂ´s 1124 -1126 are in use. Try installing the agents after freeing the ports.

The port 1125&1126 are open by hpvmmcntj, see attachement and command by : service hpvmmcntsvc.

If i restart the service and then try to register the VM host, i've still the following message :
Agent registration failed! - 10.XX.XX.XX

The VMM agent cannot be connected or is locked to another service. Install the VMM agent or unregister it from the other CMS.

I've had some success just rerunning the vmm agent install.
Another option maybe to completely remove the vmm agent manually before re-installing.

Once done retry the agent registration

i've seen your reply Ole but i don't understand exactly what you did with the firewall and the ESX GUI bug ...

Log on to the ESX server, run nano (edit) or more (view) /etc/vmware/firewall/services.xml and look for odd entries.

If it is the last entry i presume it is safe to remove it and try another un/install.

I removed it and manually pasted in the content of the xml-file in the install package, but I suggest you try the above first.

You might have to do a reboot or "service firewall restart" after edit.

It's running.

And with this new version 5.2, there is somme differences during setup (check firewall ...)

No HP Virtual Machine Management Agent has been installed.
Installing VMM Agent
checking the port usage.

hpvmmagent ##################################################
Starting hpvmmcnt: [ OK ]
ESX 3.0 is detected.
firewall is detected
Checking if the vmm service has been enabled for firewall.
vmm service has been enabled for firewall.
Check the status of VMM Agent.
hpvmmcnt (pid 31915) is running...
HP Virtual Machine Management Agent installation complete
