I just took over support for our hp sim configuration and I found it in a bit of a mess. I have successfully upgraded it to the latest version and all seems well so far.
One issue outstanding though and for which I couldn't yet find an answer, is managing the cms server itself. Does that have to be done manually , from another cms server ?
For example deploying VC agent is apparently disabled on the local cms.
thanks,

Deploying software etc. should work including the VCA.
Typically the stuff that is stopped is where you try and replicate settings. It's better to set these manually on the CMS Server. Otherwise you manage the CMS server in the same way as you manage others.
