Hi,

I've HP SIM 5.1 SP1 installed on a Win 2003 server and the db on a SQL 2005 SE.

The problem that i've is, when an event is triggered i receive more than one email event.

For, example when o reboot a server i receive by email at least 4 linkdown events.

How can i force HP SIM to send me only one alert instead of severals?

Thanks In Advance
Ricardo

That would depend on how you have the event handling set up.
Look at the events generated and see if what they are. You may be getting alerts for informational as well as major or critical alerts.
You'd typically control this behaviour by controlling the event handling tasks.
You might also check your SNMP settings. I had this trouble as well. Go to the Trap tab, and make sure that you don't have a trap destination for your public snmp string. Once I removed that (leave the destination for the private string) I didn't receive duplicate events. Also, if you are using iLO, they can also send events which will trigger an e-mail.
