OK, I have this figured out. Here is what I found. One several systems, even though the replicated agent settings out, and all the systems said they received and processed the settings, there were quite a few that still did not have a default support pack version listed in the version control agent settings. The other problem I had involved Proliant DL360 (G1) servers. These were not showing a version control repository listing for the System ROM on these machines. I checked the contents of the VCR, and it did in fact have the firmware in it. I deleted it from the VCR, re-synched the vcr with HP, and then scanned my systems again. That did the trick. Must have had some corruption in the VCR. Thanks for your replies.

Software version status shows '?'

I have several servers that show a software version status of '?', yet when you click on the question mark, I am able to get into the version control agent and see my software patch levels. Everything is working just fin. It is just a nuisance to see '?' on systems that have version control functioning properly. I have manually ran the software version status polling and the '?' remain.

The Version Control Agent is not installed on the system.

3. Are you establish Trust Relationship.

Ivan.

Actually, everything is working on the clients showing the '?'. The VCA is installed, the trust is defined and working, and the version control repository is available and up to date. I am able to look at these client's software versions compared to the versions in the control repository. I am not having a functionality problem whatsoever. I just have these annoying '?' showing up. I found one link that suggested the cause was because I do not have a default baseline Support Pack version for these servers. I have since made sure that Support Pack 7.1 is my reference support pack for all systems. I ran the discovery agent again after this to update my views. I still see the question marks. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Jeff

Another idea may be to run the Software Version Status polling task on all your targets.
Logs> View All Scheduled Tasks > Software Version Status Polling

Ed

I guess I should have read your entire message before responding...Looks like you already tried the status polling task.

When you go to the VCA page...do you see not only your patch levels but also those of the levels within the VCR?
Ed
