Querying SIM SQL datbase directly

Is there any documentation or information on querying the SIM database directly. We want to extract data on events into Excel so we can correlate events with our internal helpdesk ticket numbers.

The database schema is documented in online help and also in the TRG from http://www.hp.com/go/hpsim --> Information Library

Thanks, we've actually worked out a process using the "assign to" function and the comments field, which is simpler and means it's all kept within SIM. You prompt reply was appreciated.
