IP address as a name

chaps

we have a number of devices and servers that have come into sim as an ip address and not a name. maqny have dns records (some don't) how do i cange the ip address to show the name.
can it be done by simply adding a host file?

Hi,

Yes, a simple hostfile on the SIM server would do the trick.

Other option is to fix DNS (foward and reverse entries).

Last solution is to change the display name yourselve: In nodes System Page within HP SIM select tab Tools & Links, Edit System Properties en change Preferred System Name.
