In SIMS, go to Options, Events, Automatic Event handling, Manage Tasks.
Select your notification task, and select Edit. Click through
each step until you get to Select Time Filter. There you can
select the time frame you don't want notifications sent. Keep going until you are finished with the wizard.

we reboot a lot of servers each morning. with this sim alerts on all of them and sends out a lot of alerts to do with cold starts and snmp link up. is there a way of filtering out these alerts so they are not sent out?

i am just concernd if i do stop them that we may miss a real alert when a server reboots for a problem.

cheers

You can set the trap itself to disabled for those specific alerts, but then you would miss it if something out of the ordinary happened. A better way might be for you to set a time filter on your alerts for your morning reboot time frame. Then you won't receive the notifications during this time, but would at others so you would catch unplanned reboots.
