Hi all, I have setup an Event to send an email to myself when one of our servers fails to backup. However I'm not getting any emails nor is it showing the failed status in the system home page. I'm not sure if I've configured SNMP correctly.

I have set Hardware Polling for every hour but not sure if SIM is updating.

Servers are on a WAN.

Thanks.

James

James,

Have you set the SNMP properties on the server where ARCserve is running to send traps to your server running HP SIM?

Rgds
Alan.

James:

I use to have same problem,

1. Setup SYM to receive informational messages.
2. Send a test trap using Arcserve Alert managaer.

If trap shows up as uknown or unreconised trap. This means that you need to appl. a patch they made a month back .

Are you running Arcserve 2000 or EB 10.05?

Hi, thanks for the replies.

Its Arcserve 2000+9 plus a few servers with 11.

I have set PUBLIC as read only on the servers and setup the trap to send to my SIM server but I don't get test trap.

On Main Window

Go to :
Options
Event
Event Filter Settings

Select Informational.

Remember that the server needs to be already added to SYM to receive the trap.
