does anyone know how I can delete a host or ip-address which was once
discovered?

Hi,
Just check the square checkbox in front of the discovered device and than at the bottom push the delete button...

You can also do it from the CLI :

mxnode -r nodename(s)|hostname(s)|ipaddress(es)
