Hi,

The system model, serial and product ID are all set at factory in the system BIOS. I have seen numerous instance where the system, board has been replaced by engineers and this data has not been updated in the new BIOS and hence the data is missing in the system management homepage. Verify that this data is present in the BIOS ;)

Hello all,

I have a preinstalled system and want to use SHM. I (re)installed all available software für the Proliant server, but I still get the error: System model: unkown.

I found a post about this topic here: http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/ITRC-HP-Systems-Insight-Manager/system-management-homepage/m-p/5248988

Where can I find "Options>Discovery>View task results" in SMH? Is there any possibility to check where the error is located?

I think it's a problem with Insight Manager. When I start, it freezes with "Waiting for the HP System Insight Manager web server."

How to solve this issue?

Regards

fx

Try setting SNMP and allowing Localhost access and retry.

Why HPSIM is freezing is probably not related.

Best if you include SW versions etc.

In SMH make sure you are using SNMP as datasource (top right of SMH).

If not using SNMP then change to SNMP.

click on settings then choose

Select SMH Data Source

make sure that data source is SNMP.

you will need to log back into SMH

this should now work

steven
