I cant find a place to make a string in the iLo 3. Am I missing something there?

Hello,

I need some help finding some information on how to manage an iLo's from my new Sim server. I am a complete beginner to Sim so I am sorry to ask such a noob question but here it goes:

I have found all of my iLos on my domain, but I can not seem to get a hardware status. I want to know if power supplies, hard drives, or anything else has gone bad on my iLo 3 G7s. I try to go to hardware polling but it says it is not compatible. If I click on the iLo in Sim and go to health status is just has a green check next to MP. What am I missing here? I have been reading through the documentation but can't seem to find what I need..... Thank you so much for any help!

yes SNMP is setup and I beleive that is how they are communicating for the MP..... If I go into one of the iLos I can see the Sim server setup under HP Sim Trusted Servers.

From the sim server can you ping those three g7's. Firewall needs to be enabled for sim to talk to your g7's especially if they,re on different vlans.

Thats exactly why your sim server isn't getting any data. Follow the doc on setting up your snmp community string first on your indvidual servers and then on your sim server.
