@shocko

Some current active numbers:

~1500 objects (150 of type Server)

~30.000 events (auto clear and auto delete running), max 90 days events.

SIM DB ~350 MB

2 CPU (quad cores), 12 GB MEM.

~750 (automatic, run once) task results. After seeing this i modified the defaults down, but that won't count for the mem usage i assume.

So even loading in all data should be no problem for this beast.

After a restart last week mxdomainmgr is back up to 4 GB of MEM.

@Andy-F

Why? SNMP trap is the heart of incidents?

And last 24 hours only ~1500 events entered SIM.

Regards, Marcel

After reading some of the entries i didn't found any solution yet.

On our SIM servers the mxdomainmgr is using huge amounts of memory. up to 7-8 GB !!!!

How can i restrict this?

All memory is consumed leaving only a few MB's free and some programs (e.g. vbscripts) crash with error codes saying not enough memory.

Regards, Marcel

The amount of memory used depends on various factors

number of devices monitors (number of nodes)

size of DB

frequency of tasks being run

Can you post some detail on each?

Try to stop the SNMP Trap service on the CMS. This helped in my case where it used 15.8 GB out of 16 GB

If my post was helpful please award me Kudos! or Points :)
