Still using Windows Server 2003 today is just stupid in my opinion, since it's in extended support since 13. of july 2010 and you only get security hotfixes and no bugfixes...

But in HP SIM 7.1 it's still listed as CMS OS:

Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard, SP2 (x86)

Source: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.BINARYPORTLET/public/kb/docDisplay/resource.process/?spf_p.tpst=kbDocDisplay_ws_BI&spf_p.rst_kbDocDisplay=wsrp-url%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252F16.197.208.169%253A25654%252Fsp4tssearch%252FbinaryDocDisplay%253FdocId%253Demr_na-c03345274-1%2526docLocale%253Den%26wsrp-requiresRewrite%3Dfalse&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

Notice that 2003 R2 Standard x86 is support, which means that:

No 2003 non-R2

No Enterprise version (even if R2)

No x64 Version

What confuses me the most is that it won't install on R2 Enterprise X86, I really can't understand what should be the difference for HP SIM.

EDIT: Also noticed:

NOTE: The support for Windows Server 2003 is available only for applications running on
NonStop platforms

Not to mention support for all of 2003 ends in May of 2014. It's not worth setting up anymore.

Actually its 2015 and there can be many reasons why you would still like to run it. There will also be possibilities of bying security upgrades after that.

But this is off topic to the question asked.
