thanks for your reply.

I following this procedure for pre-populate version control repository:

Updating the Repository Manually from the
SmartStart CD
To populate the repository manually with ProLiant Support Packs from the SmartStart CD version
6.0 or later:
1. Insert the SmartStart CD in the CD-ROM drive.
2. From Windows Explorer, double-click the CD-ROM drive to open the SmartStart CD.
3. Click Compaq to open the directory.
4. From within the Compaq directory, click CSP to open the directory.
35
5. The CSP directory contains a NW directory that contains the Netware-related Support Packs,
a Linux directory for Linux-related Support Packs, and a Windows NT® directory that contains
all of the components and support packs and an XML file for each supported Microsoft operating
system. Click Linux or NT depending on the type of Support Packs with which you want to
populate your repository.
6. After you have opened one of the directories, select all of the Support Pack files, click Edit
from the Windows Explorer toolbar, and select Copy.
7. From Windows Explorer, navigate to the repository directory, for example, c:\repository.
Click the repository directory.
8. From the Microsoft Windows Explorer toolbar, click Edit and select Paste. The Support
Packs are copied into the c:\repository directory. The repository is now populated.
9. From the c:\repository directory, select a component. Right-click the component and select
Properties. Note that the file is read-only. For the Version Control Repository Manager to
allow component configuration, a component cannot be read-only. Deselect the read-only
attribute and click OK.

in my case source is smart start 64 bit.

How I can create another profile with smart start 32 bit?

thanks

Jonh

Hi,

I installed hp version control manager on my hp insight manager.

I imported the last smart start (8.70) on the c:\repository directory.

It's possible to create more profile? For example one profile for server 64 bit and more profile 32 bit.

thanks

Hi,

I'm not sure I understand you. You don't import the SmartStart CD/DVD into the repository, you import the PSP (Proliant Support Pack) or SSP (Service Support Pack). You can of course then create different baselines for 32/64 bit systems :)

Exactly!

You put all the 32/64 bit smart update components in that same repositoryfolder. They can exist side by side. The best way of doing it is to either let the repository manager populate it for you or download the PSPs and extract them to their respective folders then do an import from there. Each PSP, when extracted to a folder, contains some .xml files that contain the inventory in that PSP. You point the import wizard from the VCRM at this folder and it picks up the .xml inventory file and imports all the components and catalogues them. :)
