HPSIM logon screen not show

Hi,
On some PC , IE browser only show
"Please wait , checking for a java plug-in"
and Hang. No login displayed.
I try to checking forum but don't found solution , what I do is.
- remove all java and let the browser install.
- uncheck use java ... in advance tab.
but all is not help me.

I have exactly the same problem, no solution either. Looks like going back to the (working) Compaq Version.

Why on earth does everybody program stuff for IE only? Doesn't make life really easier...

i had the same problem. After i installed the IE security Patch Q867801, i got this message. after deintalling it worked fine again. Hope this helps you

Does anyboby know what options are changed in this patch exactly?

On XP , I've remove and reinstall IE without
any patch , still didn't get it work.

meanwhile I tried mozilla 1.7.2 on Windows and on Linux (yes, I'm really desperate) also Firefox on Windows, with all those the menu inside HPSIM is missing. Java is latest.
With Opera 7.23 the Java-Plugin is not seen.

ok, another result: Uninstalling the IE patch helped me also to get the login. Though I found that with IE I'm also missing the menu.

There's a SIM patch to fix this problem. You can get it by going to http://wwwp.hp.com/go/hpsim and you'll see the link there

Ok, obviously HP thinks one browses HPSIM only from the machine where it is installed. I have HPSIM on a Linux machine without graphical Interface, and connect to it from my Windows PC. No patch for this situation. Why does HP give the patch only for HPSIM on Windows, when the problem is on the *client*, not the Server?

Anyway, you can take the login_xx.jsp from the Windows patch, take a look at the Batch file that installs it, and do the same steps on a Linux Box the get the IE to login correctly. Worked fine for me here.

Oh, yeah, nearly forgot to mention: Still got no menu and a few missing graphics (after complete reinstall of HPSIM even). See Screenshot...

Hi,

I have the same problem in windows xp and 2000 advanced server.
Can you verify if you have "showLogonScreen" on C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager\hpwebadmin\webapps\ROOT\login.jsp file? See if you have a call to this function.
