HPSIM has a replicate settings feature. But you don't need to change Community names. The only SNMP Items that need to change are the Allowed Hosts and Trap destination. i.e. update a server manually with the SNMP changes and use that as the replication source.

The main item that changes is the Certificate used in the trust. What I do for that is once the new HPSIM Server installation is complete, extract the SIM Certificate and update the SMH in the VCRM with that.
I then create a new Baseline using just the SMH and then deploy it to all of the servers. That way the new certificate is deployed. That makes it easier to replicate the settings as the trust is re-established

Hi.

We have the same problem.

We have defined one device as trusted replicate Source. But newly discovered devices won't get those snmp settings (traps

and allowed sources): Cause: unmanaged device.

Repair Agent fails also.

"HP Systems Insight Manager was unable to install the target's HP Repair Tool ser
vice. This could be caused if another instance of the tool is currently running
. Retry at a later time." >>> this is not the case

Any ideas how we can setup the imported Hosts to the new SNMP Trap settings correctly?

Edit: Read Community has not changed. Only Trap and allowed Sources has changed.

Hi.

We solved the problem by changing the snmp settings /traps /destinations per GPO - Regestry Keys.
