Hi at all,
on my sim 7.1 I see correctly for one node in system status --> health status:

- ping
- snmp

But for another node I see only ping (see screenshot) e not smnp...why?

The node have snmp installed, hp agent installed .

thanks

Luca

Check if the system page shows SNMP as discovered protocol. If not check the community string, if it is different from public, do update the same in HPSIM.

Thanks for your update.

Yes the system page shows SNMP (see screenshot). Comunity is correct (public).

Is possibly that I don't see snmp on hp insight manager because this machine is behind firewall?

On the firewall I opened snmp port (161) and so when I run the Hp agent and run snmp trap I receive the trap on Hp insight manager.

thanks

Luca

Run a network sniffer on both ends i.e... the target and the CMS and send a test trap from the SMH and see if it gets through. Ensure the following:

CMS is set to accept traps from all hosts

Community and trap destination is correct on the SNMP agent being monitored

The HP agents of the correct version for that specific hardware are installed
