MB,

Are you replacing the SIM server or managed servers? If you are replacing the managed server you should delete it and re-identify. If you are replacing the SIM server you will need to re-establish trust with all of your servers via configure/repair.

Good luck!

We soon to start project to replace server hardware.

When a server is replaced by a server with the same name and IP address assuming the HP Insight agents are installed on the new server and I am purely using SIM via SNMP (Read only) will the data collection update itself with teh new information or do I have to carry out a configure and repair against each server.

If teh IP address changes but the name is the same does this alter any actions needed ?

P.S. this thread has been moved from Insight Remote Support > general to ITRC HP Systems Insight Manager Forum - HP Forums moderator
