Hi,

I'm still missing the menu in HPSIM 4.1, no matter what browser I use. Java is 1.4.1_04.
Has anyone ever seen this? A few graphics are also missing, see attached screenshot. I did a complete fresh install of HPSIM...

Lars

Also, clear the Java Caches, they get corrupt every now and then. You can do that from the JRE console.

Meanwhile I'm through ~5 Java versions, no difference. With 1.4.2_04 I get an exception in the console, dunno if it's an important one (doesn't sound important):

----------------------------------------------
sun.plugin.cache.DownloadException

at sun.plugin.cache.CachedFileLoader.load(Unknown Source)

at sun.plugin.cache.FileCache.get(Unknown Source)

at sun.net.www.protocol.https.PluginDelegateHttpsURLConnection.connectWithCache(Unknown Source)

at sun.net.www.protocol.https.PluginDelegateHttpsURLConnection.connect(Unknown Source)

at sun.net.www.protocol.https.PluginDelegateHttpsURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source)

at java.net.HttpURLConnection.getResponseCode(Unknown Source)

at sun.net.www.protocol.https.HttpsURLConnectionImpl.getResponseCode(Unknown Source)

at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.getBytes(Unknown Source)

at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.access$100(Unknown Source)

at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source)

at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)

at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source)

at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)

at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)

at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)

at java.util.ResourceBundle.loadBundle(Unknown Source)

at java.util.ResourceBundle.findBundle(Unknown Source)

at java.util.ResourceBundle.getBundleImpl(Unknown Source)

at java.util.ResourceBundle.getBundle(Unknown Source)

at com.hp.mx.portal.applet.baseapplet.WbemApplet.<CLINIT>(Unknown Source)

at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance0(Native Method)

at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(Unknown Source)

at sun.reflect.DelegatingConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(Unknown Source)

at java.lang.reflect.Constructor.newInstance(Unknown Source)

at java.lang.Class.newInstance0(Unknown Source)

at java.lang.Class.newInstance(Unknown Source)

at sun.applet.AppletPanel.createApplet(Unknown Source)

at sun.plugin.AppletViewer.createApplet(Unknown Source)

at sun.applet.AppletPanel.runLoader(Unknown Source)

at sun.applet.AppletPanel.run(Unknown Source)

at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
---------------------------------------------

There's some of those.
Btw, when I uninstall my current Java, and install a new one, but deselect the IE plugin, I'd have no Java at all in IE.

Lars</CLINIT>

Now I also tried mozilla on localhost (i.e. the management server), same problem. The install seems to be definately defect on the machine. Since I already did a new install, with the same results, It has to be something with the OS. I'm on RedHat Enterprise Server 3 ES, does anyone know about any problems with that system? Hardware is HP ML 380.

Lars
