    <description>&lt;P&gt;What service does this &amp;nbsp;agent/service&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;provide?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I , like so many others,&amp;nbsp; have had to stop this service in order to solve my issue of failed &amp;nbsp;backups to LTO4 TBU's&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I use CA Arcserve 16&amp;nbsp; and in my research, &amp;nbsp;it seems that most industry leading backup programs&amp;nbsp; have users that have wrestled with this for years now.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So now that i ahve the sevice stopped on my new Proliant G8, my question is...what service /support does the HP WMI Storage Agent provide? what are the consequences of having this serivce stopped /disabled?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thanks&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
