Interesting, since searching in SIM will only provide one match.
Would that happen if the server for example had two nic interfaces ?

Does anyone know why in a list of discovered servers some servers are known with just the server name (for example server1), while others are known with their dns name (for example server2.name.dns) when they are installed in the exact same way and configured alike in dns as well ?
The full dns name will be displayed if HPSIM finds more than one system with the same hostname but different dns name.
For e.g. if there are systems with the name

server2.domain1.com
server2.domain2.com

then HPSIM will display the full DNS name.

It's not necessary that both the system should be discovered in HPSIM. If your DNS server has entries for both the systems then HPSIM will display only the full DNS name.
Multiple NIC's will not create any problems.

Thanks, but maybe I'm not too good in my English, what I meant was that I have unique names for all servers so there should be no two systems with same name, and HPSIM only have one entry for each.
