Update: I've checked with our firewall team and there is no message storm coming
from outside the SIM Server! So it has to be something locally on the SIM
Server.

Anyone having any tips what to check / try?

Hi all,

our HP SIM Server keeps crashing (after a reboot of the system it crashes again after a few seconds) and the message "HP SIM server has lost communication..."

In the mxdomainmgr.log I've found lots of following messages:

21 Okt 15:45:44,695 INFO [HPSIM_DEBUG] [Panic Logger-0] (Timer-104) DbSem Get 1: In use cnt 38 avail cache 0 sem 39
21 Okt 15:45:44,695 INFO [HPSIM_DEBUG] [Panic Logger-0] (Timer-104) NOTICE! DB Pool ran out, adding temp extension
21 Okt 15:45:44,989 INFO [HPSIM_DEBUG] [Panic Logger-0] (Timer-105) DbSem Get 1: In use cnt 39 avail cache 0 sem 40
21 Okt 15:45:44,989 INFO [HPSIM_DEBUG] [Panic Logger-0] (Timer-105) NOTICE! DB Pool ran out, adding temp extension

and also a lot of java errors(?):

21 Okt 15:19:36,270 INFO [HPSIM_DEBUG] [Panic Logger-0] (http-50000-6) java.lang.NullPointerException

I've already opened a case at HP but maybe someone here from the community has had the same issue and knows how to fix it? :-)

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Regards,

Ville

if it is a SNMP Trap storm, does anyone know how I can get the systemname of the system causing it?

btw: the message

INFO [HPSIM_DEBUG] [Panic Logger-0] (Timer-100) NOTICE! DB Pool ran out, adding temp extension

appears now about 10-20 times a minute in the mxdomainmgr.log!
