    <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm experiencing an issue where the SIM is not starting, it comes up with an error saying that I should check if the database service is running.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I had this issue in the past after I changed the password for the hpsim account. But I managed to correct that issue without long delay.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This current issue started two weeks ago and for the life of me, I can't seem to get it to work.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I can connect to the database using the management studio from another sql server, browse the database without getting an access denied.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The event log contains multiple error entries as indicated below:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;com.hp.mx.database.DbVerificationException: Problem initializing the database.&lt;BR /&gt;com.hp.mx.database.DbVerificationException: Cannot start SIM: Authentication type should be host or dbms, check database.props&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm now even thinking about reinstalling SIM but I'm afraid it might not resolve my issue.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
