HP SIM doesn't show Uncorrectable Memory Error

Hello,

today I recognized a flashing light at one of our HP servers in our datacenter that is also integrated in HP SIM. HP SIM doesn't show any errors for that server but when I log in to the System Management Homepage I can see an error showing "Uncorrectable Memory Error".

In my opinion HP SIM should also be able to show this error and send me an email. All agents should be installed and SNMP is fine.

Do you have any suggestions why HP SIM isn't able to show this error?

Hello Simli27,

First you should have snmp trap configured on your servers. you can do this with a repair agent from the sim under configure or set trap server and community in the snmp settings on the servers that you want to monitor.

When you receive a trap you can make sim send an email when an error is received.

Second when you have a server correctly discovered you will get a minor or major hardware status depending on the error on the server that you poll.
