topic How do I move SIM 4.1 Database in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

My database administrators do not like the fact that they need to grant create DB rights to an installation program that they are not familiar with to create a database in a production SQL cluster enviroment. They also would like to keep the database name consist with their naming standards and be able to select the location of the DB on the SQL server cluster.

I have installed the database in a development environment, can I move the database to the SQL cluster and rename it? We tried doing that and then changing the existing ODBC settings to point to the new database name and location but it did not appear to work. I then searched through the registry looking for the original database name, thinking that it might be listed somewhere within the Insight Manager configuration. I could not find any instance of the database name outside of the ODBC settings. I also could not find anything related to the database in the SIM console. Can anyone offer any suggestions or solutions.

Thanks!!!!

There should be a System DSN "Insight_v1_0" displayed on the SIM server. If not you will need to modify the registry entry for the ODBC connection which can be found at

HKLM\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\Insight_v1_0
