Hi gents,

I would know if it's possibile to integrate the System Inisght Manager with the SPP (service Pack for Proliant )

I need integrate the Sim with Spp as a proliant support pack

Hello Gianluca.

You can upload the SPP to the Version Control Repository, once uploaded the SPP can be used in SIM for deployment and or baseline checking.

Hello again,

From what you canread from this forum, the VCRM has a problem since last month because HP has make the auto download impossible(due to support changes). For now we just download the SPP(s) unpack then and put them in the Repository directory on the server. The VCRM sees this an will build a catalog that you can use for deployment. If you open the VCRM and look for the "change repository & update settings" you can browse for the following :

Directory - Choose the directory where you unpacked your SPPS

Select or deselect operating system from below - If you don't want to download deselect all options

Enable automatic downloading - also disable this option if you don't want to enable downloads (what function does not work at this time)

The Version Control Repository can be found if you open the following URL : http://machinename:2381 and then select the Version Control Repository Manager from the Syste mManagement Homepage.

If you download the SPP iso file, you can just put that ISO file into the existing repository directory and VCRM will see it, unpack the contents and auto-add all of them to the repository.

It may or may not take longer to do it that way, as opposed to you extracting the files from the ISO and importing the SPP... I didn't time it one way or the other since it's pretty slow either way.

Putting the ISO into the repository directory is how it *used* to work when it would actually download the ISO as part of auto-updating.

By the way, even though it looks like SPP's need a current support contract or whatever, for now you can also still go to the download page for a product and download individual items, and the VCRM auto updates might also still get those individual files.
