Does HP SIM require traps to be sent?

Hello, we are installing HP-SIM. Will we also need to enable each server to send SNMP traps to HP-SIM, or will polling be enough? Thanks.

Hello there,

Receiving traps has at least one advantage. If you receive a trap you'll get an allert. If you get an allert you can trigger an action like send an email or forward to your monitoring screen/tool. Polling does show you the status in SIM but no trigger is generated.
