IC Update 7.1 -> 7.3 | Sim failed to install: Connection to the repository server failed.

Hello Experts,

Insight Control 7.1, VCRM and ICPM are installed.

Installation Advisor runs without a Major error.

SIM installer failed with following comment:

Connection to the repository server failed.

VCRM is installed and Repository directory are on same Server.

VCRM service is started at begin of installation.

does anyone had a clue?

Hello Markus,

You could try the update the VCRM, VCA and System Management Homepage software beforehand, then try your update.

If that does not work, try the install without the VCRM installed and choose a custom install and leave the VCRM option empty. Not a nice solution but you could give it a try. If that works you can always install the VCRM software afterwards.

thanks for your reply

the VCRM and the System Managagement Homepage are already on Version 7.3

those method sound's good but won't work.

Then i wanted to uninstall the IC package but it doesn't work (the uninstaller will hang, no response 2 times)

a case is opened now.

i will post the solution here.

Hello again, Sometimes the uninstall fails while deleting the traps directory. Perhaps not your problem but take a look in the traps directory under the default install folder. If there aore a lot of files the uninstall fails.

Last option could be as tou said a fresh install of the OS reinstall 7.1 and reconnect to your old database, if the database was not installed localy. Then you could try an other update, this way you would not lose your config.
