SIM 7.3 on Server 2012 R2

Hi All,

I can see that Server 2012 R2 should be a supported operating system, however when trying to install 7.3 on Server 2012 R2 Standard, i get a prompt that the operating system is not supported.

I can run this in compatability mode back to Windows 7 which gets me past that error then i run into a diffferent issue with SQL.

Is anyone else expiriencing problems with Server 2012 R2. I cant believe that its unsupported?

were you able to resolve the issue with HP SIM 7.3 in Win 2012R2? I have the same issue and cannot solve it.

If i look at the supportmatrix 2012 R2 is supported on the following versions:

Latest Software Release Support

Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard, Datacenter (CMS and Managed Node)
Microsoft Windows Standard Storage Server 2012 R2 (Managed Node)

You can read about this on the following URL:

When you read the first link it says that the Essentials version is not yet supported.

I had the same issue you described but I was able to fix this by doing the following:

Download and install the 64bit version of SQL Express 2008 R2 SP2.

Enable TCP/IP in the Network Configuration in SQL Server Configuration Manager (you may also need to add port 1433 to "IPAll" in the IP addresses tab while you're in TCP/IP protocol settings).
