HP SIm 7.3 - No Ilo Login link on Tools and Links tab of system properties.

We are migrating from a seperate SIM 7.1 environment. I have a fresh install of HP SIM 7.3 with latest hotfix. I have added an HP Dl360 G6 with an Ilo2. The server and Ilo are identified with no issues, and the Ilo is correctly associated to the server. When I browse to the Properties page of the Ilo, I see that the IP adress, serial number, firmware version etc are all listed. I've noticed that the UUID is not listed, as it is in v7.1, but this is a minor problem.

The real issue is that on the Tools and Links tab, there is no "System Web Application Pages" section, where there should be a hyperlink to the ILO login page. Clicking any of the hyperlinks in the ILO Links section brings up an error.

I have attached screenshots to show what I am talking about. I have confirmed this behavior on two different DL360 G6 servers, with version 2.23 and version 2.27 of the ILO2 firmware. A DL360 G7 with an ILO3 does not exhibit this problem. I have deleted and re-dicovered the server, re-identified them, etc several times. I am out of ideas. Anyone else ran into this issue?

Can you post the discovery log for the ILO ? Can you see if SIM scanned port 80 ?

ILO discovery log attached. I notice this line that reads:

The discovered management processor is not associated with its server. Verify that the supported management processor firmware version is installed.

The ILO is showing as associated to it's server in the GUI.

what is the ILO firmware version of your server? Also can you open the http page of the ILO the url should be

https://iloip/xmldata?item=all

I've tested on two different servers.

The one I am working on here, which is the one I sent the identification log for, has been running v2.23. I just updated it to v2.27, which I've also tried on the other server.

If I run https://iloip/xmldata?item=all I get a certificate error due to the self-signed certificate not being trusted, but if I click OK the data comes up. If I try using http I get the results just fine. Testing from the browser on the SIM server, BTW.

Could be a timeout, try to set the HTTP timeout higher to see if that helps. The strange thing is that you have HTTP response in the log so that should not be a problem. Did you install the 7.3 hotfixes?

That was exactly the issue. I set the http timeouts higher and it's working now. I ran an identify task aftrwards and the weblinks appeared and are working.

I encountered the same problem.

I have updated the ILO2 firmware to the last version, but where did you change the "http timeout" ?

In \\Systemdrive\HP\Systems Insight Manager\config\globalsettings.props ?

If this is that, what parameter and value did you change ?

That should be the one, i always change these settings trough the GUI. You can fine these setting under the protocol settings and look for the http settings. I'm not behind a pc right NOS so if you need more exact pointers i can trol you tomorrow if you need.
