Can anyone tell me 'programatically' how I can access the burned-in mac address on our teamed NICs?

If I try using WMI it reports the 'virtual' address of the teamed nics.

If I look at the properties on each NIC on the System Management Homepage I can see the information that I need.
Can I access this information from a script? Is the burned-in physical address stored in the HPSIM database anywhere?

Thanks in advance for all your help,
Graham.

points for all replies.

Hi David,

Thanks for the reply.
Yes I've seen this report but it only gives the 'virtual' mac address for teamed NICs.

Example :
Nic A mac address "aaaaaaaa"
Nic B mac address "bbbbbbbb"

Teamed Nic mac address "aaaaaaaa"

How do I find the mac address of Nic B? It reports as "aaaaaaaa" when using WMI.

The HPSIM report only shows the Teamed Address (i.e. "aaaaaaaa")

Thank You,
Graham.

What version of HP SIM? There was a data collection bug fixed in HP SIM 5.1 that wouldn't collect the physical NICs in a teamed set up.

Yes it is HPSIM 5.1 we're using.
Could I be as bold as to ask for a link to the patch/fix?

Or even the patch details?

Thank you,
Graham.

I have the exact same need. Did you ever get a decent way to gather all the 'burned-in' macs on a system? I'd prefer WMI but an HP SIM solution would be acceptable.
