Custom tools- Tool Type: Web page tool

Hi, I would like to pass a Servers Serial number to a value within a URL.

I've been trying to do this for awhile, but there's not alot of documentation on how to get this to work.

I'm creating a Web based tool

The goal is to simply provide a tool at will pass the Serial number of our remaining Dell servers to the Dell Support Page.

The URL to do this Query is simply,

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/my_systems_info/details?c=us&cs=RC956904&l=en&s=hied&~lt=bodyonly&~wsf=tabs&servicetag=

The only thing I'm missing is the way to pass the final "Service tag" which is in the Serial number field in SIM.

This is not really possible because it would involve an environment variable in the CMS's security context that can't be made available in the context of the browser session...

Hmm. Sounds like I may have to build a backend process in Python or Java to handle this process..

Were wanting this to track the warrenty info from SIM, Dell's tools have been getting antiquated. So as they expire We can plan on replacing them with HP equipment :)
