We get the same error, even just trying to do a dir on a remote host. We run the configure or repair agent, and it finishes fine. The we execute the Tools, Command Line Tools, Dir and get the "SSH public key authentication failed" message.

Hi,

We’re having problems running custom tools on our HP SIM 5.1 server.

What I’m trying to achieve is to run a batch file locally on the SIM server that calls a program to execute a application to play a sound on a remote desktop PC when an alert comes in.

I’m getting the below error which asks me to reconfigure the SSH on the SIM server which I do but it still fails.

ERROR
--------

SSH public key authentication failed.
Target system SERVERNAME.DOMAIN might not be configured.
Please run mxagentconfig -a from command line window or Configure->Configure or Repair Tool from graphical user interface to configure the target system.

RESULT FROM RECONFIG
------------------------------

Successfully added the user, ´emea\$App-EMEA-HPSim´, to the target server´s SSH passwd file.
Successfully added the user, ´ADAdmin´, to the target server´s SSH passwd file.
Successfully modified the target server´s sshd_config file to enable host based SSH authorization.

Successfully ran Windows configuration commands
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Re-identifying system to get update information

Even if I create a custom task just to run CALC.EXE on the local SIM server I get the above error.

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks for any information,
