Thanks! I had neglected to run a software poll. This has resolved many problems. The ones that still exist are obviously *real* errors and I'll just have to recheck them.

Hi all,

I have a small problem with the list view in SIM. All the managed servers have for some time been updated to the latest VCA and are running just fine. However, some of them have the italic "i" or the "?" in the SW column. I have checked all the agent settings (trust by cert, vca version, snmp settings, VCRM passwords and logins) and all are fine.

Even after a forced daily discovery the status still shows up incorrectly. I know this is not a huge problem, but I would like any of your ideas as to why this should happen.

A few of the machines (around 15) are on WAN links, but are easily accessible by any method, so I don't believe that's a factor.

-C-

Hello

I belive that you chek, but in any case:
- check for VCA to point to a server where is a VCRM,
- the defult scheduling for Software status pooling task is 1 week, so run it now.

I.
Colin,

Keep in mind that "Discovery" does not poll for software status. If you had a problem with the agent settings, or had not completely configured them, when the server was initially discovered, the status icon in the SW column will not change until the next Software Status Poll, which I believe occurs every two weeks by default.

You can manually run a status poll using Options -> Status Polling -> Software Status Polling. A few minutes after it completes, the icons will probably change.

Good luck,
- Steve
