Hi,

I'm having problems installing HPE SIM on new Windows 2019 server. SQL Enterprise 2019 is already installed so installation only offers to use SQL/SQL Express or Oracle. SQL 2019 is not an option since HPE SIM reports unsupported version.

So, I have installed SQL Express which I found withing SIM installation. Configured everything, added relevant domain user during SQL Express installation.

When I select SQLExpress instance for installation I get error: Unable to connect to specified database. Please check Host, Database and Port values provided.
All connection details are correct, I can log in through SSMS with that user.

Anyone has any idea what to do? This is a clean installation, not an upgrade.

Thanks in advance

//Nikola

Looking at the Install Guide Windows 2019 Is not a support OS for SIM 7.6. Perhaps this is your issue.

Could be. I've found SIM 7.6 LR4 supports Windows 2019, but maybe latest download does not have this patch included so it's not available. I'll check a bit more in that direction.

Thanks
//Nikola

With LR4 Windows 2019 is supported as a managed system not as the CMS

Below is the support matrix for LR4

https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=a00070194en_us
