topic Re: Documentation? in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

I'm re-reading some of the HP SIM table/view descriptions. Is it me, or is it inaccurate and/or incomplete?

I'm finding columns, tables, and views and aren't documented (examples: no R_PCIBoards description, OS column in CIM 7 is now OSName in SIM 4 -- and it STILL has the wrong name, etc.)

I also came across the PDF I have for CIM 7. The documentation for SIM 4 isn't any better.

One of my job functions is technical writer, and by my standards, these documents fail. If I was editing this document, I would've sent it back and told them to do it right.

Documentation?

Hey all . . .

Other than the document titled "HP Systems Insight Manager" (filename sys-book.pdf), does anyone know where I can find good (and more comprehensive) documentation for HP SIM 4?

More specifically, I'd like better (key word) documentation about the database structure -- for example, I was looking for info about the R_PCIBoards view which does exist in the HP SIM DB infrastructure (it also exists as a table in CIM 7), but is not documented.
Not that I've seen. In CIM 7 there was a document "Creating Custom Reports from the Compaq Insight Manager 7 Database". This gave details of most tables. Just checked my hard copy at that doesn't mention the R_PCIBoards Table.

However, an HPSIM version of this document would be most appreciated. Joel? David?
