Hopefully you have this resolved by this point but if not, one thing you could try is installing SIM on the new server and utilize MSDE locally. Then go into Programs - Administrative Tools - Data Sources (ODBC) - click System DSN and then configure each of the listed Data Sources to the new location.

We have installed HP SIM on a certain server with a database on a separate sql-cluster.

We need to move HP SIM to a different server. The database remains where it is.

How can you do this ? Can you just install the HP SIM software on a different server and reconnect to the database ??

Is there any document on how to do this ??

Thanks !

Robert

Forgot to mention you'd also need to configure your database.props file.
