Hi,

we have like 10 servers here DL380, DL360.
All supplied wil iLO boards.
we have a few servers which show a "?" in the systems list in the MP column. The message is "No management processor discovered in server".

We DO have the iLO boards discovered and they are listed also in the "All systems" list as a Management Processor, but there they state no name as RIBxxxx in Server xxxx but just RIBxxxx.

I checked all the SNMP settings and compared them with the iLO board which DO work, and network settings, but they all seem to be correct.

Can you please assist?

Okay, That might be the point.
But here comes a really newbish question:

Where can i change this? Ive been searching on every (to me) known location, but didn't find that option.

Yours,

Silvester

To change the setting browse to the iLo https://<ILO ipaddress=""> and login to the same.

In the "Administration" Tab select "SNMP/Insight ManagerSettings". You have the option to chamge the settings.

But as far as I know, Even "Medium" level is good enough. In order to get the associations right make sure that Insight Management Agents agents are installed on the server that has iLO and in the CMS makesure that the SNMP settings are correct.</ILO>

If I can ask a silly question, do you have the RILOEs installed corectly? Each server model is installed a little diferently. Like with the DL380 G2 you use the inernal ribbon cable to conect it and don't use the dongle for mouse and keyboard or the external power. Ive seen both cause damage to the RILOE. Also are you lougged into the corect slot? The RILOE wont neccesaraly work in just any slot. Check the orange sticker that comes with the RILOE.

I believe so.
All is working perfectly with the RIB board, except for the link in HP SIM. I can use the RibBoard for remote control etc., and it is also detected by HP SIM. Only it isn't linked to the server it's in.

So the only problem that occurs is that the RIBBoard is not linked to the server, but it's shown as a individual device. Further everything works like a charm..

You mention "it's version 2.53" what is that the version of?
It may be that this is a RILOE I, I only have RILOE II and ILO's in my Servers so I cannot guarantee where things are.

The Level of detail setting is under Administration / Global Settings on the RILOE II card. It's at the bottom under a Insight Manager Integration banner.

I'm not up to date with firmware revisions for the RILOE I Cards but you may want to confirm you're on the latest firmware.

SIM can not perform the management processor association task for the RILOE only for the RILOE II and ILO. The RILOE does not return the information needed for SIM to make the association with the server.

I've got several associations between RILOE cards and servers, so I don't think the assessment that SIM won't associate RILOEs is incorrect.
